It all started with a very sick little girl that absolutely loved the Flintstones. Long days in the hospital getting treatment meant for long hours of watching cartoons. So the idea came to me, that i could easily create a Flintstone car with different sized wooden dowel rods and scrap wood. I fabricated the car and realized I needed Fred and Barney characters to fit the car. Since nothing of this scale existed I used the same principles of design and dowel rods of different dimensions to create a whole slew of characters. The Woodies Toy Company started here. Over the following years more characters were developed. Larger formats, more elaborate designs, with more functionality all based on a simple wooden dowel, a simple idea where possibilities are endless.
